How to use the circle crop

  1. Add a picture.
  2. Drag the circle into place and set its size.
  3. Optional: Centre on a face (a 230 KB face finder) for profile pictures.
  4. Choose Outline for a ring around it, then download the PNG.

Smooth edges, transparent corners

The circle is drawn with anti-aliasing at your picture’s full resolution, so its edge is smooth rather than stepped. Outside the circle is transparent in the PNG; pick a background colour if you need it filled instead.

Profile pictures in one step

Centre on a face finds the face and sizes the circle for a head-and-shoulders crop. Add a white or coloured ring with the Outline finish, and download — PNG for transparency, JPG on a colour for apps that don’t accept transparency.

Questions

How do I crop a picture into a circle?

Add the picture, drag the dashed circle to where you want it, set the size, and press Download PNG. The corners outside the circle are transparent.

Can I add a border ring around the circle?

Yes. Choose the Outline finish, pick a colour, and set the width.

Why does my circle look square in some apps?

Some apps don’t show PNG transparency and fill it with white or black. Pick a Background colour that matches where the picture goes and save as JPG or PNG.

Is my picture uploaded anywhere?

No. PicCutout opens and cuts your picture inside your browser, on your device. There is no upload step and no server that receives pictures. The only things this site downloads are its own pages and, if you agree, an AI model file, which is the same for everyone.

Can I make an oval instead?

Yes — open Shape cropper or switch the shape to Oval. There are ten shapes in all.
