Add outline to image — a clean stroke around the cutout
The outline follows the cutout’s exact shape at any width, with smooth anti-aliased edges. Your pictures never leave your device.

How to use the add outline
- Add a picture and let it cut out the subject.
- Set the outline width and colour.
- Optional: add a background colour to see it on a poster or thumbnail.
- Download the PNG with the outline around a transparent background.
Measured, not blurred
The outline is built from the distance of every pixel to the cutout’s edge, so a 10-pixel outline really is 10 pixels everywhere, round at the corners, with a smooth edge.
Thumbnails, posters and slides
A white outline makes a cut-out person pop on a busy thumbnail; a dark one does the same on light slides. Widths are a share of the cutout’s size, so the look holds for small and large pictures alike.
Questions
How do I add a white outline around a picture?
Open the picture here — Outline is already the finish and white is the colour. Set the width and download the PNG.
Can I outline a shape or a logo instead of a photo subject?
Yes. Switch the cut method to Shape or Colour key; the outline follows whatever the cut is.
How is this different from the Sticker finish?
Outline follows the shape exactly. Sticker also rounds off notches and adds a soft shadow, the way a die-cut sticker looks.
Is my picture uploaded anywhere?
No. PicCutout opens and cuts your picture inside your browser, on your device. There is no upload step and no server that receives pictures. The only things this site downloads are its own pages and, if you agree, an AI model file, which is the same for everyone.
Is it free, and is there a watermark?
It’s free, with no sign-in and no watermark. Downloads are full resolution — up to 12 megapixels, which is where very large photos are scaled to keep the browser responsive.
